Wow, this gets deep! Let’s look at the first definition of REVIVAL. “1. Renewal of interest: a renewal of interest in something that results in its becoming popular once more.”
Before true revival can ever begin, there must be a renewal of interest in our hearts for it! In other words, we have got to desire and hunger for revival. No man can make us hungry for it! We must decide to chase GOD for ourselves! We must make the decision to put everything at the feet of our LORD JESUS CHRIST and not let the stuff come between HE and us. We can not let the glaring eyes of the enemy keep us from looking into the glorious face of our loving SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST. When the enemy blocks our view of the KING, we have permitted him to do so. We have decided to serve Satan inconspicuously. We have put the promises of GOD behind us and have chosen to look at the gloom of darkness and the negativity it has begun to engulf us in. We have decided to walk in our own pride and proclaim ourselves to be “someone” or “somebody”, when in reality we alone are nothing. Yet for the blindness the enemy places upon us, we can only see darkness, because even though we know of what is right and what is wrong, we rationalize ourselves into remaining in our pitiful state of selfishness instead of letting JESUS sit on every throne of our life as our complete source for everything! It is one thing to proclaim JESUS as LORD, but are we letting HIM be so? Is there any god like JEHOVAH? NO, there is NO GOD LIKE JEHOVAH, but why do we permit others to sit on HIS thrones in our lives? Are we letting HIM be JEHOVAH JIRAH in our whole life, or are we simply have our KING restrained from supplying all of our needs according to HIS riches in GLORY? Have we forgotten HIM as JEHOVAH NISI, our FIRST LOVE? If we do not love ourselves enough to let HIM love through us, then how can we possibly really love our neighbor as ourselves? Do we really know HE is JEHOVAH ROHI, our pastor, or we following every stinking foul scent the enemy decides to blow our way through the mouths of others? Do we really pretend to know JEHOVAH RAPHA, our HEALER, or do we first run to the man in the white coat rather than first running to the ONE in the white robe? The name “Christian” means CHRISTLIKE, so what part of CHRIST are we trying to be like? Who do we trust and who do we turn to? Do we trust in ourselves or will we choose to completely trust JESUS CHRIST for everything, in everything and as our everything?
Joshua 24:15 - 28 (KJV) 15And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
Just as Joshua told his people, I must choose to serve JEHOVAH whole heartedly with my entire mind, my soul and my strength for myself. It does not matter what others say or do, all that can ever possibly matter is how I stand before KING JESUS! I can never be swayed to serve any of the idols of my past. I can not get comfortable in the land I dwell to serve the idols of self. In other words, I can not fall into a religious mind set and forget the relationship I am to have with my LORD JESUS CHRIST! Just like the day I gave myself to JESUS, I must let the FIRE of JESUS’ eyes pierce my whole being. JESUS must be my only focus and not anything the world has to offer me in its fullness. Without JESUS, I am nothing and there is certainly no hope, no hope of redemption! Without HIM, I have no life. Without HIM there is only darkness. Without HIM, I have no peace. Without HIM, I have no joy. Without HIM, I have no grace. Without HIM, I have no mercy. Without HIM, I have no one to run to. Without HIM, I have no one to rescue me from my own despair. Without HIM, I have no healing. This day I decide to serve only JESUS CHRIST! I decide to give HIM my death of despair in exchange for HIS LIFE! I give JESUS my nothingness in exchange to being a joint heir with HIM, my KING! I give HIM, my hopelessness in exchange for HIS eternal HOPE of salvation! I give HIM, my deep seeded wicked darkness in exchange for HIS HOLY GLORIOUS FIRE! I give HIM, my turmoil of anxiety and fearful torment in exchange for HIS UNSURPASSING PEACE TO CALM MY STORM! I give HIM, my anger in exchange for HIS AWESOME EXPLODING JOY! I give HIM, my hate in exchange for HIS infinite love and favor of GRACE! I give HIM, my relentless unforgiving hard heart of selfish pride in exchange for HIS eternal forgiving MERCY! I give HIM my sickness and pain in exchange for HIS tender eternal healing of my whole being. I decide to walk with HIM in HIS FIRE and NOT the chilly shadows of the enemy!
Who do you choose to serve today? If you have decided to serve HIM wholeheartedly, then you are in fact ready for a true HOLY GHOST FILLED FIRE REVIVAL! If you are not, be prepared to step back as darkness always does, because HIS RAGING CONSUMING HOLY FIRE IS HERE TO CONSUME US!
Revival at one time was popular! Everyone traveled no matter how great the distance to where the FIRE was breaking out! People were so hungry for the presence of our KING! What has changed our attitude toward JESUS? We as a Bride somewhere along the line thought it best to put “self” on the throne rather than “letting” JESUS rule. Since we have permitted self to be a god, we swung our front door wide open and put the “welcome mat” out to the spirits of Religion, Jezebel, Ahab, Apathy, Perversion, Judgment, Pride, Jealousy, and others.
We must break away from the spirit of Religion and Apathy that has gripped us all under the rule of the spirit of Jezebel. Oh if we would just realize who we are in CHRIST JESUS and tell the spirit of Ahab to get off of us and we will not cower and bow to the religious controlling spirit of Jezebel, we as the Bride would have our interest sparked to the remembrance of what revival really is and the freedom to carry this FIRE throughout the world! We would realize we are not alone, but there are thousands under our KING’S authority who are doing HIS work. Our focus would get off of circumstances around us and back on JESUS CHRIST! We then would come against all spirits of Perversion. We will take a stand against the sin and not the sinner. We would in no doubt reflect more of the fire of JESUS’ love and not our own cruel corrupt icy fingers of ridicule we use to point judgment. Our GLORIOUS KING IS ALIVE AND WELL AND HE HUNGERS FOR US TO GET BACK INTO HIS FIRE! If we would just get sparked, then HIS FIRE would engulf us. When HIS FIRE strikes, who could ever become more popular than our AWESOME GOD? No one! We will know him as the three Hebrews knew HIM…We will become FIRE WALKERS with our KING! We will be ready to follow wherever, however HE may lead us! We will realize that HIS methods of burning will forever change with out ever changing HIS burning message!
To show JESUS we have a true interest and hunger for HIM, we must without reservation, take a careful look at what GOD did through King Solomon and let HOLY GHOST apply it to ourselves.
2 Chronicles 7:1 - 16 (KJV) 1Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house. 2And the priests could not enter into the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD had filled the LORD’S house. 3And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the LORD upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever. 4Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before the LORD. 5And king Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty and two thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep: so the king and all the people dedicated the house of God. 6And the priests waited on their offices: the Levites also with instruments of music of the LORD, which David the king had made to praise the LORD, because his mercy endureth for ever, when David praised by their ministry; and the priests sounded trumpets before them, and all Israel stood. 7Moreover Solomon hallowed the middle of the court that was before the house of the LORD: for there he offered burnt offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings, because the brazen altar which Solomon had made was not able to receive the burnt offerings, and the meat offerings, and the fat. 8Also at the same time Solomon kept the feast seven days, and all Israel with him, a very great congregation, from the entering in of Hamath unto the river of Egypt. 9And in the eighth day they made a solemn assembly: for they kept the dedication of the altar seven days, and the feast seven days. 10And on the three and twentieth day of the seventh month he sent the people away into their tents, glad and merry in heart for the goodness that the LORD had showed unto David, and to Solomon, and to Israel his people. 11Thus Solomon finished the house of the LORD, and the king’s house: and all that came into Solomon’s heart to make in the house of the LORD, and in his own house, he prosperously effected. 12And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice. 13If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; 14If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 15Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place. 16For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.
We MUST make the decision to reject religion and all it has to offer. We MUST go against the grain of the world and completely embrace JESUS in true relationship. We can not be under subjection to what the enemy wants us to believe or be. To survive in the presence of our HOLY GOD, the blood must be continually applied! To have the blood of JESUS applied; we must first come before HIM in true repentance. True repentance requires us to be sincere in asking JESUS to forgive us of our sin and to completely turn it over to HIM and not return to it. Sin can have no place! We can not ask HIM to forgive us and decide to hold onto the sin that so easily besets us no matter what it may be! We are to be the living sacrifice and offer everything we are, everything we have, everything we will become and everything we will have onto the HOLY alter of GOD.
As Solomon finished praying, the HOLY FIRE of GOD came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices. Immediately, the Glory of the LORD filled the house. When we completely repent to JESUS and ask for the application of HIS blood, HE will consume all that separates us from HIM and refine us into the presence of HIS Glory. JESUS wants our houses to be so filled with HIS Glory, that people will see the Glory of the LORD and be drawn to HIS HOLY FIRE! All who come into HIS presence will know that they know they are in HIS HOLY Presence and will know that all of their sin is exposed by the piercing fire of JESUS’ eyes and not by the ridicule of man’s judgment; people will be immediately convicted by HOLY GHOST to full repentance so they may be filled with thanksgiving, praise and intimate worship with their REDEEMER, JESUS CHRIST, for HE is good and HIS mercy endureth forever!
Solomon and the people continued to offer all they had to GOD. We too must decide to continue to be sensitive to the moving of what HOLY GHOST asks of us so we may be continually surrendered to JESUS CHRIST and to the powerful movement of HOLY GHOST.
As Solomon got into GOD’S presence, the people saw GOD’S Glory and not Solomon’s. The people as they waited upon the LORD, did not just sit on their hands and do nothing, they continued to offer sacrifices of themselves to GOD. They knew that with out the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin. They knew that blood had to be continually applied to their lives. Then Solomon and all the people dedicated the house of GOD. It is not until we are under the Blood, can we ever dedicate the house of GOD.
When we have surrendered all to JESUS in full repentance to HIM and have dedicated all to HIM, we must wait on GOD to move us into the full offices HE has intended for us to walk in. We can not be in slumber as we wait, but we must take a stand for GOD as we sound the trumpets of HIS praise. We are to stand and keep the commandments of our GOD. We are to also get into the middle court where the world can see us and with out shame or embarrassment show we are willing to offer all to JESUS while we also offer the bounty of our peace.
Later Solomon sent the people back to their homes, on the 23rd day of the seventh month. It is very interesting how the WORD of GOD came alive and the people actually surrendered to the WORD and the WORD manifested in the physical and spiritual what David wrote in Psalm 23. The people were in position to want nothing but JEHOVAH- ROHI, the LORD MY SHEPHERD to lead and guide them. They knew that their GOD would supply every need spiritually and physically for them. They knew HIM as JEHOVAH JIREH, the LORD PROVIDER! Imagine what we could be if we as the Bride of JESUS CHRIST would truly know HIM as JEHOVAH JIREH! We would completely trust HIM for everything! Everything means everything physically and spiritually. We would not get caught up in the emotional roller coaster of lifeless self serving religion but truly experience the FIRE of GOD’S personal relationship with us.
In the stillness of the night, the LORD appeared to Solomon. How awesome it is that even when it is quiet and we feel alone, our loving CREATOR, JEHOVAH ELOHIYM comes to talk with us just like HE did with Adam in the cool of the day. Due to Solomon’s obedience, and supplication to his GOD, our LORD chose to make that place for HIMSELF for a house of sacrifice. As we seek HIS face in repentance and dedication, we will find that our GOD will make a place for HIMSELF with us.
GOD wants to know if we will choose HIM even when blessings are not manifesting in our lives as we think they should be. HE wants to know that if all Hell breaks loose in our lives, we will still seek HIS face or will we turn to the “gods” we left behind?
GOD HIMSELF tells Solomon, in verse 14, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
GOD is not talking to the heathen, but to HIS own people. GOD as we know made Adam out of the dust of the earth and breathed into him a living soul. So, you see, we as individuals are the land. We must come humbly to HIM and pray. We must grab hold of the horns of the alter and completely seek HIS face and completely repent and actively show repentance by turning completely away from our wicked ways. Only then will GOD hear us and forgive us. Only here at this full repentance will HE heal the land of our hearts. We can not try to think we are ok by simply putting portions of this scripture into place in our lives. We must fulfill all four parts: humble ourselves, pray, seek HIS face and turn from our wicked ways. Once we do this, the LORD JESUS CHRIST will in fact take the fiery needle of the WORD of GOD (HIMSELF) and a single thread of HIS salvation and heal our land.
HE has promised to heal our land “IF” we do as HE has asked. He will also have HIS eyes open to us and HIS ears will be attentive to our prayers, because there will be no un-repented sins between us and our HOLY GOD!
Our LORD has heard our crying out to HIM! HE has chosen our generation to work through like HE has never done before. JEHOVAH wants us to be tried and completely true to HIM. JESUS is to be GOD no matter what circumstances may be. Are we willing to renew our interest in JESUS CHRIST completely and humbly and surrender the deed of your land to JESUS CHRIST by continually pleading for repentance and pleading for the blood to be applied to your life?
