PSALM 20

This morning as I began to seek the face of my KING with the urgencies and needs of mine and Lori’s personal life, I felt the moving of HOLY GHOST to thank HIM and PRAISE HIM for what I have! While HE was urging me to do this, HE kept telling me PSALM 20…PSALM 20…PSALM 20. I had no idea what it said, but I knew I would read it when HE said to after I prayed. Even though I really did not feel like thanking HIM because I felt at my wits end, I knew I needed to. I felt so overcome, I thought what can I begin to thank Him for. HE said, “Michael start with the small things.”
I began to thank HIM for the food that was in our refrigerator. Thank you ALMIGHTY GOD for the food in our cabinets that we can prepare for another day! Thank you my GOD for the roof of shelter you have over my head. Thank you my PROVIDER for the clothes you have chosen to put on my back and for the clothes you have provided in my closet. Thank you BLESSED REDEEMER for our car and truck. Thank you JESUS for the utilities we enjoy to warm and light our home.
As I began to thank HIM for what I take for granted and what could be taken away very easily, HE began to flood my heart with HIS JOY! I then began to praise HIM for delivering me from the chains of bondage I permitted the enemy to place upon me. I praise you my LORD for saving me from the bondage of sin. I thank you ALMIGHTY GOD for your SOVEREIGN GRACE and MERCY! YOU oh GOD have surpassed all my imagination! YOU oh KING have cut off the chains of bondage I have made for myself! YOU have removed me from the pits and have set my feet upon YOUR SOLID ROCK! In YOU oh HOLY GOD I will continue to put my trust no matter what! I will not trust in what I see around me, but only what I see in YOU! As HOLY GHOST continued to flood me, HE then told me, “Open the BOOK.”
Psalms 20:1 - 9 (KJV) 1 The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee; 2 Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion; 3 Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah 4 Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfill all thy counsel. 5 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fulfill all thy petitions. 6 Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand. 7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God. 8 They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright. 9 Save, LORD: let the king hear us when we call.
While reading, all I could do was cry and rejoice of what HE IS DOING! 1 The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee;
HE hears us even when trouble has seemed to overcome us. Not just any god of wood, hay, stone, or any religious god we erect in our lives to serve our selfish desires, but the name of the GOD of Jacob will defend us in the troubles. Thank YOU JESUS for taking my troubles and making them dissolve in your presence.
2 Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion;
HE is sending me help from HIS sanctuary, HIS VERY PRESENCE. HE provides us strength from HIS HIGH PLACE! We can not depend on self, because self will fail every time. It is all about HIM, even in our personal affairs which no one knows about.
3 Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah
LORD, I remember all the offerings to YOU. I know of the ashes of the burnt offerings to YOU. All I have given to YOU is YOURS. I can no longer keep hold or even say what YOU are to do with it. It is gone, out of my control. Lord, just like the “things” I have given YOU on YOUR HOLY ALTER, I give YOU me to sacrifice and as an offering and as a burnt sacrifice. Help me to become dead to myself so that I may be ALIVE in YOU! As YOU apply YOUR REFINING FIRE, help me not to focus on the ashes of what was, but focus on now and what is to come in YOU!
4 Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfill all thy counsel.
Help me to receive what YOU desire to give me JESUS as you are my fulfillment in everything! I thank you my KING for having thoughts above mine and YOU alone can see what my life really needs to be completely fulfilled in YOU. YOU have and will complete and surpass all my desires and I want of nothing, because you have met all needs before I even ask! I bless you MIGHTY GOD!
5 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fulfill all thy petitions.
LORD, I rejoice in YOUR SALVATION! YOU have saved me from the sins that have so easily encompassed me. YOU have saved me from my own selfish desires. YOU wore the crown of thorns for me. I do not have to play the mind games or entertain the battleground that goes on to penetrate my thoughts and urge me away from what YOU are doing in me. Thank YOU JESUS, for accepting every thorn on my behalf. Thank you JESUS, for reminding me that when I choose to entertain the thoughts of the enemy and play the mind games; I have really chosen to place a crown upon my head and proclaim myself as a king of answers to all these problems when really all I need to do is remember that you already wore the painful thorns of mind games, the tangled wreath of worry and so much more that I do not fully understand yet. I lift up everything to YOU JESUS and raise banners to honor YOUR HOLY NAME! I will continually raise my hands to the ONE WHO RAISED HIS HANDS FOR ME! I praise YOU JESUS for conquering all for me! YOU alone paid the full price! YOU alone live as my REDEEMER! It is because of YOU, that I am now able to stand and just praise YOU for all that YOU are, for all that YOU have done, for all that YOU are about to do and for all that YOU are doing! I bless you ALMIGHTY KING and I lift YOUR NAME HIGH! For YOU are my fulfillment in everything I have ever asked for. YOU have answered every petition I have placed at YOUR NAIL SCARED FEET!
6 Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.
LORD, YOU have saved me as YOUR ANOITED! There is nothing the enemy can touch me with unless you permit him to! When YOU permit him to, it is not for YOU to let the enemy get the best of me; it is because I need it! I need to know how much more I really need YOU as my SAVIOUR! I need to enter YOUR gates with thanksgiving, I need to enter YOUR courts with praise, I need to worship YOU and lift YOUR NAME HIGHER and give YOU more GLORY, I need to get enveloped and consumed in YOUR HIOLY FIRE for there, only YOU remain! YOU will hear me in YOUR HOLY PLACE and YOU will deliver me with the saving strength of YOUR right hand!
7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.
JESUS, I do not want to trust in anything or anyone but YOU! I do not desire to be carted around so others can see me higher than I really am. I do not want people to see the glistening gold of what I have formed and fashioned to make me appear wonderful and one to be desired over YOU. I do not desire to be boxed in to be kept from walking how you intend for me to. LORD, I know that if I choose the life of a chariot, then I have no true rear guard and I can easily fall because I trust in my own strength to hang on to the reigns I am trying to control. I do not desire to be a mighty horse that seems to be free and full of powerful strength, but in reality am so easily controlled by the silencing bit of religion and am willing to be whipped into subjection to be lead by the followers rather than truly standing in who I am in YOU and lead many to YOU, JESUS. I desire to remember YOU, JESUS as my strength so that people can see YOU, not me! I desire for all eyes to be completely on YOU! I desire to boldly walk with YOU and in YOU! I desire to put my little feet on YOUR BIG FEET and my little hands in YOUR BIG HANDS like a father would do his small child. I am lost with out YOU and can not even walk without YOU holding my hands and letting my weak legs depend on YOUR STRENGTH.
8 They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.
LORD, I praise YOU for we are risen and we stand tall because YOU HAVE RISEN IN RESURECTION POWER AND VICTORY OVER THE ENEMY! JESUS, YOU have caused the wheels of man’s self satisfying religious chariots to fall and have brought down the power that pulled them. I only stand because of YOU and YOU alone! Help us to walk in YOUR RESURECTION and help us not to resurrect what YOU have brought down in out lives so we may continue to walk upright before YOUR HOLY SIGHT.
9 Save, LORD: let the king hear us when we call.
LORD, my greatest desire is to SEE SOULS SAVED! Let those who seem to be sitting in lofty places hear our cry of YOUR SALVATION! Help us to reach as many as possible for wherever we go, we bring and usher in THE KINGDOM OF GOD!
