Folklore has it that angels were created greater than man; therefore, we are to be afraid of them. KJV Psalm 8:5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. The word translated angel in Psalms 8:5 is actually the word “Elohiym” which is the plural form of the Hebrew word for God “Elowahh.” This same form of the word “Elohiym” is translated “God” three out of the four times it is used and should have been done so consistently here. Satan, created as an angel, fell lower than angels when he led a rebellion against God. Man was created a little lower than the Gods (Our Father, The Word, and the Holy Spirit). Man then fell lower than the angels and equal to fallen angels when we ate the forbidden fruit in the Garden of God (Eden). We were equal to Satan before Christ; however, Satan had the advantage over man – not being limited by a fallen human body. KJV Hebrews 2:6 But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him? 7 Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands: 8 Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him. Hebrews chapter 2 verse 7 appears to be quoting Psalms 8:5; however, this time the Greek word for angel is used instead of the Greek word for God. The Holy Spirit is helping us by reapplying the Old Testament with a deeper meaning. The solution is contained in the following verse. KJV Hebrews 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. Jesus, also know as the Word prior to being born of Mary, emptied Himself of His Glory as God and became a man (the last Adam and second man). KJV John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. KJV Philippians 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: KJV 1 Corinthians 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. KJV 1 Corinthians 15:47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. Jesus being the last Adam was superior to angels, and certainly fallen angels, just as the first Adam before the fall. However, at the cross when Jesus took man’s place for punishment, He became lower than the angels and equal to fallen angels. The punishment for our transgressions was released upon Jesus as our scapegoat. Upon His resurrection, He was made once again greater than the angels and given back the Glory of God. Once again, angels serve Him and since we are His joint heirs they serve us. KJV Hebrews 1:6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. KJV Romans 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. KJV Hebrews 1:13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? 14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation? We will judge angels. KJV 1 Corinthians 6:3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life? Angels , including fallen angels, learn from the Church. KJV Ephesians 3:10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, We are not to worship angels. KJV Colossians 2:18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
