The Traveller

Submitted By: fenny west

He was a traveller,
Sojourning, an alien;
Visitor and stranger,
Far from being a citizen.

Sought escape from death,
Damnation, destruction;
Of no use was his strength;
His burden spelled condemnation.

Sought release, freedom;
Blessed to meet Evangelist,
Who told him of the Kingdom;
How he could make the ‘A’ list.

With the world on His back,
Warned his family as he left.
But they scoffed and shunned his track.
He spoke right they preferred left.

Departed for the Golden Gate;
Looked insane, his soul troubled;
Trod on even when no mate;
Wanted to end his struggle.
