Growing in the Grace of God (Part3)-Prayer
By :
fenny west
It is time to step up your prayer to another gear. The times we live in are evil. Let's pierce the darkness with the light of prayer, persistent and importunate prayer that will not take 'No' for an answer. God is waiting for us, longing for us to come. Prayer is not just asking or begging for things from God; it includes thanksgiving and worship as we shall see in our latter studies.
Jesus -the Son of God, woke up early to pray; He communed with His Father. And if He had to in order to fulfil His ministry, we have no choice. Paul agonised in prayer for the churches and for those he led to Christ. Little wonder he fulfilled his ministry and wrote 13 best seller of all time.

The Names and Nature of God
By :
Hal Warren
In the days of the Bible, names were given that fit perfectly with the life of the person. For example, Abraham means ‘father of multitudes,” Joseph means “God will increase,” and the name Jesus means “Jehovah is salvation.’
In the same manner, God has chosen to reveal Himself to us through His names recorded in Scripture.

Introducing the Person of the Holy Spirit
By :
Hal Warren
Before we can correctly understand the work of the Holy Spirit, we must first of all know the Spirit Himself. If the Holy Spirit is a divine person and we do not know Him as such, then we are robbing a divine being of the worship, faith, love, and surrender He is due. If you desire to know how to get more filled with the Holy Spirit - like filling a car’s tank with gas - then you are thinking of Him in terms of a power, illumination, or influence. However, if you think of Him in the Biblical

Faith will not work without God’s love because we must believe that God loves us enough to help even when we do not deserve it.
Discover Prayer IV (Complete Text)
By :

Faith believes in the completed work of Calvary. God does not have to send Jesus to the cross again when we accept the Lord as our Savior because the sin debt of the whole world has already been paid. Therefore, we ask God to pass the salvation that has been placed on the table before us. The same is true when we are praying for any need to be met in our lives.
Discover Prayer III (Complete Text)
By :

Pray the promise not just the problem. God was aware of our problem(s) before us and provided a promise as the solution long before it came to our attention. Furthermore, rehearsing only the problem to God makes it grow larger in our hearts. Praying the promise causes our hearts to believe in God more than the problem. Remember; whatever you place your attention on will grow larger in your heart – promise or problem.

Having an attitude of gratitude will keep our hearts tender towards God. Consequently, we will have a heart through which God’s grace can pour to meet the needs of others and ourselves. Remember, when the trials come we can either get bitter or get better. The stones in our path can be either our stepping stone or tombstone. Therefore, let us stop whining and start winning.

It was in 1985 when my husband and I were stationed in Germany, that I suffered one of the worst cases of depression, ever! It was our first military overseas tour of duty, and my husband, a master sergeant in the Army National Guard, soon found himself overwhelmed with job and employee responsibilities, while I served as landlord in our military housing, helping other military families cope.
CHRIST AND PRAYER "teaching on prayer" PRAYER CLOSET by Howard Watson
By :

A general prayer from memory such as Jabez's prayer in I Chronicles 4:8f is a good example of a Biblical prayer from the Old Testament. Jabez (which sounds like the word for pain in the Hebrew) appears to be a descendent from Judah, the tribe of David. Jabez prayed (cried), as an honorable man: for God to grant the blessing of an enlarged territory and for God's hand to be with him in keeping him from harm and pain. The Bible indicates the granting of his request (v.10).
